Crew

Every Sunday takes a crew.

Five crews carry a Sunday between them, from the gate to the last chair stacked. If you are part of this family, there is a place for you on one of them.

A crew member mid-job on a Sunday morning, before or during the service: at the sound desk with the faders lit, or carrying a stack of chairs across the grass, or at the info desk mid-conversation. Pick the moment where they are clearly working rather than posing, and get the tent or the desk in frame so the place is legible. Portrait.
The five crews

Who does what on a Sunday.

Two of them are made up of smaller crews with their own post and their own lead. Pick the one that sounds like you and say so on the form, or say you are not sure and someone will help you work it out.

Every card above is thinner than it should be, because the one thing a person weighing this up wants to know is what it will cost them: a call time, a rehearsal, how many Sundays a month. None of that is confirmed yet and none of it has been estimated here. Send the real commitment for each of the five and it drops straight into these cards.

Who captains them

You will be handed to a person.

These are the people carrying each crew. One of them is who gets in touch when you put your name down.

A portrait brief for Ruby: the info desk mid-conversation, and she should look like someone you would ask a question.

Ruby Taicho

Big Hug crew captain

The crew a person meets first: the door, the two desks, and looking after the greater church.

A portrait brief for Lynn: on the platform between songs, or at rehearsal with the worship team around her.

Lynn Mukoma

Worship crew captain

The worship team. Rehearsal through the week, then leading the room on a Sunday morning.

A portrait brief for Kevin: mid-preach with the Bible open, shot from the floor rather than the wings.

Pst. Kevin Vikilu

Platform crew captain

What happens from the front: the Word preached, and the meeting run so the morning holds together.

A portrait brief for Tim: at the desk with the faders lit and the tent out of focus behind him.

Tim Mwaura

Media crew captain

Everything the service is heard, seen and kept through, in the room and long after it.

A portrait brief for Natalie: in the Littles room with the space visible, mid-activity rather than posed.

C3 Kids crew captain

Toto's Corner, Littles and Kids Church: the crew that runs the kids' spaces every week.

Put your name down

Tell us where you would fit.

Fill this in and a crew captain gets in touch. You are not signing anything, and saying you are not sure which crew is a perfectly good answer.

Optional. Most captains would rather call.

Crews you're drawn to

Tick as many as you like. If none of them is obviously you, tick the last one and a lead will help you work it out.

Are you a member here? (required)

Crews are for members. Either way, fill this in: a lead will pick it up from wherever you are.

Optional.

This goes to one crew captain, nobody else.
Members serve

Why we ask that

Crews are for members of this church. We would rather a guest was looked after than handed a job, so if you are new, be a guest for a while. When you are ready, this is here.

Rather ask in person?

Come to the Info Desk

The Info Desk handles signups for anything, including this. Say which crew you are curious about and they will find the lead for you on the spot.

Gap · what membership means

The page says crews are for members and cannot yet say how someone becomes one, because the membership policy has not been uploaded. Until it is, this card is the honest answer and the Info Desk is the route.

Why we call it crew

Nobody here volunteers.

Serving is not an extra we recruit for. It is what being part of a family looks like on a Sunday morning.

We are a family and families don't volunteer to serve. We just do.
