The Book That Would Not Die
No book in human history has been more banned, burned, translated, and distributed than the Bible. Empires tried to silence it. Kings outlawed it. Men were executed for putting it into the hands of ordinary people.
And yet here it is. Still speaking. Still transforming. Still relevant.
This message traces the remarkable journey of how the Bible survived to reach your hands, from the Septuagint opening Scripture beyond one ethnic group, to William Tyndale being executed for his translation, to Gutenberg's printing press putting thousands of copies into circulation. People bled and died for what we now download in seconds.
But the harder question this sermon asks is not whether the Bible survived history. It is whether it is alive in you.
Because the real crisis today is not access. We have more Bibles, more translations, and more Bible apps than any generation before us. The crisis is appetite. We collect the book but resist the encounter it offers.
